What a great topic! I have to tell you that every Thursday we wake up in our house and say something we are thankful for. We have a different name for each day of the week and Thursday is "Thankful Thursday". I just love hearing the things that my son and husband are thankful for. I am also a High School teacher and we just started doing the same thing in my class. The students each take a turn and say something they are thankful for. It is always amazing to hear what others are thankful for, it really makes you stop and think about what we have.

I am thankful for the Heavenly Father. Thankful for the love he gives, the example we have to follow, and that because of him we get second chances. I am so thankful that everyday is another chance to wake up and be better than I was yesterday. I get another chance to be a better mother, a better wife, a better teacher, a better me. That is all that Heavenly Father asks of us, is that we try to be better every day. :D

I am thankful for my awesome support system! My family is going through some rough times and its amazing to see how great my friends and family truely are. Its hard to see in every day life but seeing the support when it REALLY matters can make or break you in a tough situation, and my support system is MAKING me! So I am very thankful for each and every one of them!

First of all, I am thankful for my family. Our family has grown to 4 in the past weeks and it has been crazy and fantastic all at once. My husband is the best - changing diapers, snuggling and playing with his babies. Having my own children gives me a new appreciation for my parents as well. I was born with severe birth defects (my small intestines was basically outside of my body) and this was before ultrasounds were done - so it was a complete surprise to my parents. I can't even begin to imagine what they went through (especially after having 2 happy and healthy babies) with me being in/out of hospitals and countless major surgeries until I was 3.

I'm also thankful for my job. I'm out on maternity leave and miss my job - I realize that I am lucky to have a job that I love. I teach 2nd grade at a parochial school and miss all of my other "kids" dearly.

Thanks for this thread - I'm going to call my mom and dad and thank them right now, lol!

I am thankful for my 2 beautiful daughters, Maddy and Morgan. They are my everything! They teach me new things on a daily basis. I feel as though I now truly understand what 'unconditional love' is!

I am thankful for my wonderful husband who works long hours so i can stay home with our girls, but still finds time to snuggle with them when he gets home!

I am thankful for Facebook: I really never thought this would be on any list of things to be thankful for, but I truly am glad I joined. I've reconnected with old friends--some of whom are better friends now than ever before. Also, I live 8 hours from all of our family, so it allows me to keep in touch with them through pictures, etc...

I am thankful for our veterans! Without them we wouldn't have the freedoms we enjoy today. This is personally dear to my heart because I lost my big brother, Sgt. Buddy "Doc" Hughie in February 2007. I have his picture hanging on my wall and everyday I take the time with my girls to say a little prayer for all of our soldiers who are fighting overseas. I want my kids to understand their sacrifice for us. Even my 4 year old can tell other people my brother's story and how proud of him we are!

I've spent a good portion of this morning being prayerful and thankful. Today I learned that my co-worker's 6-week-old baby stopped breathing on Sunday, and is currently on life support. (If you could say a prayer for Magdalena and her family, I would appreciate it.)

Everday-but especially today, thinking of Magdalena- I am reminded to be thankful for the health of my children. Three short months ago, one week after I had returned to work from maternity leave, I fell on the stairs. My 3-month-old baby flew from my arms and fell quite a distance to the ceramic floor, fracturing her skull. We were so blessed that nothing worse happened and that her brain did not suffer any trauma, and my sweet baby has made a full recovery. Every day with my children is a blessing.

Ten years ago today, my husband and I had our first date. I am thankful that he has stuck with me for so long! :)

I am thankful for the many "blessings in disguise" that our family has experienced lately. I am guessing that anyone who has the means to enter this giveaway and post is much more fortunate than so many others out there - hopefully we are all thankful not to be suffering as our Haitian neighbors or those in war-torn or poverty-stricken nations around the world...

Some of our blessings in disguise are as follows... We recently had a major car repair on our eight year old car, but we have a car and we were able to afford the $3500 repair on a car worth only $3K (I could cry, but I'd rather laugh). My brother recently found a job after being out of work for 10 months and 3 months later his wife of less than a year is being transferred to the same city we live in - sad that they will be apart for a while, but we are hopeful that it won't be long and consider it a blessing that we will be closer as a family. I am sad that we cannot afford for me to stay home with our children, but am grateful to have a fabulous boss and job and flexibility in my schedule to attend special events at school (visits to the fire station or a class performance) or to be able to take breaks to pump or nurse our baby. I am thankful that my spouse has a job and is doing well and being given more responsibility (although I wish he wasn't working at 2 AM and I wish he was less stressed...), because again, so many people are struggling to find jobs. Most of all I am thankful for my health - I am actually struggling with a variety of injuries and illnesses right now, and am very frustrated and am in constant pain, but I am thankful to be able to walk (although I wish I could run or dance with with my children)...

I am thankful for all the little things that I might otherwise take for granted or be angry or upset about. I am thankful that I realize how precious life and health and family & friends are and that all in all we are happy & we are together and we are safe. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this with all of you.
